The General Rules---
---Please respect all staff members. They spend a lot of time keeping this site running, and they deserve some respect for that. On that note, please respect your fellow roleplayers on Faltering Call. We can't stress this enough.
---Absolutely no chatspeak! i lyk h8 having 2 read ppls hu write lyk tis because its impossibly annoying! So please, don't. The occasional "lol" or "brb" is alright in the C-Box, though.
---Please don't spam. It's annoying, and no one appreciates it. A spam would be considered posting more than three times in a row or writing all in capital letters. There are many other types of spam though.
---Faltering Call is an intermediate-advanced roleplay. Posts should be at least 200 words long. If your post is 199 words, we won’t stress out about it, but if it’s 20 words then we will ask you to try and lengthen your posts. If you need to go to a beginner roleplay to learn to make bigger posts and such then come back later, that is fine.
Creating Your Character---
---There is one character per account. Your name needs to be changed to whatever the name of your roleplaying wolf is, and your personal text needs to be along the lines of the following---
Age, Fur Color, Marking(s) + Color(s); Eye Color
Your custom title will be your OOC name. For example, my OOC name is Spot, therefore my custom title says that. This is mostly for the C-Box.
---Your character will have a first name, which can be made up, such as Akela, or be reflected from nature, such as Petal. Characters also have a last name which contains two words, for example Snowwing. The last name must be nature related, so nothing like Metalcar. If your character is a girl and becomes someone’s mate, it has to change its last name to the last name of her mate. The pups will be born with the father’s last name.
---Your signature should, but does not have to, include a manipulation of your character. It cannot be any larger than 450 x 500 pixels. Anything larger will be asked to be removed. We ask you to not put anything else in your signature. The picture cannot be overly disturbing. A wolf carrying a piece of prey is alright. A breeding scene or a wolf eating an animals’ innards- no.
---There are rules on the New Life board. They are meant to be followed. Please follow the form correctly or there will be a less chance of your character being accepted.
---Please continue to follow the general rules throughout.
---You will be asked to write a history and personality of your wolf. Your history and personality must be at least 250 words long. If you think that’s a lot, it’s not. If your history or personality is larger than 500 words, I will give you 20 karma points. So, you can get up to 40 karma points just by posting more that 500 words.
---If for some reason you cannot finish your biography at the time of posting, please place in the title (Unfinished). That way I know that your biography is not finished and that you are still working on it. When it is finished, please remove (Unfinished) from your thread title. Unfinished biographies will be deleted after one month of being unfinished. We will send you a message one week before it is deleted where you can message back stating that you are working on it.
---You will not be able to roleplay your wolf until your biography has been finished and accepted. Normally that can take in between an hour to a couple of days. Please be patient during this time and keep in mind the first general rule.
OOC--- ((out of context))
---Follow all of the General rules.
---If you include an OOC at the bottom or top of your posts please keep it brief. An OOC does not count in your word count in the end.
---Do not put an OOC in a middle of a post. Ask the questions or inform later. Your fellow roleplayers will appreciate it.
---Do not post pictures that stretch the board. In fact, just use a link if it is very large. You will be asked to remove the picture if this occurs.
---If in the chat board please keep in mind the basic rules. No giving out any personal information. (phone number, adress, what city you live in, what country, your full name, etc.) You should be old enough to know this.
---Swearing is allowed, but please refrain from using it excessively. The occasional “hell” or “d**n” is allowed, but don’t go crazy. I won’t even dare put out an example.
IC--- ((In context/Roleplaying))
---Once again, follow all of the general rules.
---Godmoding is not allowed. No, your wolf isn't the handsomest. No, youre leader doesn't have infinate lives. No, your pups aren't flawless. Keep in mind that everyone gets hurt at some point.
---Power-playing is also a no-no. Don't roleplay another person's wolf just because you want the thread to be longer. Be prepared for another reaction from another roleplayer. Not everyone thinks the same as you.
---Please don't repeat the same words over and over again to start a sentence. For example, you wrote "Buttercup ran through a field of flowers. She ate one. She ate another. She ran away." It can get a bit annoying. A more descriptive example is "Buttercup ran through a lush field of white daisies. Leaning over, she plucked one off of its' stem and chewed slowly, enjoying the taste. Munching down one more the doe turned her gaze towards where she first came from. Picking up her feet she ran back towards her home". See? You even got more words out of this!
---Swears are allowed, but as I stated in the OOC, please refrain from using it excessively. I don’t believe that I have to repeat myself once more.
---No wolf can be perfect. Please keep that in mind. If your wolf gets in a fight they probably would have a few scars. Who knows? Maybe your wolf will feel stronger with a few scars on his or her back.
---Your character ages at the same pace as you. Yes, one year in the game is the same as one year in real life. That way you have a greater chance to roleplay your character at one age. Please modify your character’s age when as it ages. For example, in your signature, if mine said 1 year 6 months, I’d change it to 1 year 7 months.
---The minimum requirement is to post at least once a week on one roleplaying thread. If this is not met, we will send you a message stating that you must post. People absent for told reasons are exempted from this.
Fighting---
---In a fight please keep in mind the basic rules. This only concerns to actual fights, not play fights between pups and the like.
---Wolves will fight about almost anything; mates, sleeping grounds, food, etc. Yes, you are allowed to fight another pack or a lone wolf for a territory, but this cannot happen all the time. For example, let’s say that you claimed the Pine Cluster. The next day, someone fights you for the land. That’s a no-no. Fights over territory should happen at the most once a month, as everyone needs to heal.
---You may fight over power, but keep in mind what happens if you lose. Normally the alpha will have a lot more power and a lot more followers, meaning that you’d have to face whoever wanted to help their alpha. Also, if you lose, prepare to be punished for your attempt to overthrow him/her.
---Please follow the following guidelines for how many attacks and dodges that you can have. I find this works the best. You keep fighting until either you or your opponent runs out of moves, you or your opponent makes their deer stop fighting or if you or your opponent do/does not reply after 5 days unless you were absent and either sent a message to the Admins or posted in the General OOC board that they are absent for an amount of time. Alphas--- 8 attacks,2 dodges Betas--- 7 attacks, 2 dodges Deltas--- 6 attacks, 1 dodge Omegas/Subordinates--- 5 attacks, 1 dodge Nursing/Expectant Mothers--- 4 attacks, 2 dodges Elders--- 3 attacks, 1 dodge Pups--- 2 attacks, 1 dodge Newborns--- 1 attack, 1 dodge (please do not fight with a newborn often. It can turn to be fatal with fighting at such a young age) After you start to post with the fight please keep the number of attacks and dodges at the bottom of your post. After the battle has stopped for the reasons listed above the admins will then pick who won on post quality or if it is mentioned in the Disasters and Rewards that you won/lost then you automatically win/lose. If you follow these rules we can all live as one big happy family.
Breeding and Birthing---
---Please be careful what you post. Nothing horribly graphic. If it happens to have some mature content inside, please post [M] in the title. Your fellow roleplayers will thank you for it.
---Please only breed or give birth during the allotted time that is stated on the menu. Please keep in mind how long your she-wolf has been pregnant. Normally that should be about 2- 2 ½ months.
---When pups are born, they live with their mother for the first two months of their life before exploring. The password for the New Life board is ‘sparklingmoon’. In those two months, you don’t have to roleplay the mother unless she is your only character. Once the pups turn two months old whoever will roleplay the pups can start roleplaying.
---When deciding to have pups please post in the approptiate board. Following the rules on that board please fill out the form and the admin will decide what gender, fur color, eye color, etc. the pups will be.
---Yes, you can breed your wolf with a wolf of another pack.
---Please do not beg for a certain color of wolf, to have a high number of pups , etc. It will just lower your chances.
That’s it! Hopefully you found the password. It’s hidden in there somewhere- you just might have to look again. Good luck roleplaying on Faltering Call!
